Book Report: Mrs. Dalloway

Mrs. Dalloway is a classic 20th century novel by Virgina Woolf...and it's classic Virginia Woolf. Short on plot, short on action, no shoot 'em ups, crashes or other contrivances. The whole story takes place in the expanse of a single day. Like a few other of Woolf's novels, Mrs. Dalloway is written in a stream of consciousness style. If you've ever wanted to listen in to someone else's internal monologue, you might like this book. But be prepared. You'll be jumping in and out of someone's head and leaping into the next person's pretty quickly and with no warning. It's all really riveting, but also challenging. The prose is beautifully written...I found myself reading in an English accent. Seriously.

I give this book 3 1/2, leaning to 4 stars.
