The world's oldest person died yesterday. The newspaper said she was 115 years and 220 days old. Edna Parker lived (and died) in Shelbyville, Indiana. The title of oldest person alive now goes to Maria de Jesus of Portugal, who is currently 115 years and 78 days old.

I don't know. "Oldest person alive" doesn't seem to be a title I want to strive for. I wonder how long Edna Parker was the OPA. I wonder how long Maria de Jesus will hold the OPA title. Doesn't seem to be a big future in it. There's always someone in the wings gunning for you.
